For those of you who don't know much about golf history, Gary Player is a South African born professional golfer who has won 9 majors on the PGA Tour as well as 9 majors on the Senior Tour. Also known as the "Black Knight," famous not only for his golf, but his intense fitness regime to this day, Player has plenty to share with the average golfer. I love this book because it is so genuine. Player lets you into his mind, and tells the story about each of his 18 major championship victories, as well as the lessons he learned from each of them. The book is not intimidatingly long, but has content that will keep you glued to the pages. I read this in one sitting, and two times after that. Gary also has several other books to his name, but I think this one is probably my favorite (I haven't read all of them though).
If you want mental game instruction as well as life coaching, this book is for you! Player emphasizes the value of a hard work ethic and appreciation for the basic goodness of life itself. He is the definition of optimism, and can teach us all to live a more fulfilling life.
Here is the print version of the book, and below is a quick introductory video to Gary Player.
