Who is this drill best for?

  • Golfers who "sway" a lot in their swing
  • Golfers who struggle with weight shift or keeping their balance through the swing
  • Golfers who struggle to release the club properly

Required Materials and Equipment

  • 20-30 range balls
  • At least 100 yards to hit

Drill Overview

The goal of the feet together drill is to train your body to swing with good rhythm and balance.

Drill Instructions

  • Grab a short iron or a wedge (don't hit anything greater than a 9 iron)
  • Put your feet together (nearly touching)
  • Practice hitting 50-75% golf swings while focusing on keeping your balance

Drill Variations

Step-through Variation

As a variation of the feet together drill, you can "step through" the shot after you've hit the ball.

By doing this, you will feel the weight shift in a more pronounced way and it will train your body to always be moving the weight in a forward direction.

This variation is great for golfers who find themselves "falling back" at the end of their golf swings.
