Drill Overview
This is a four-step drill that gets you into the perfect setup position every time.
Drill Instructions
First, setup an alignment stick pointing at your target.
Align your feet to the alignment stick, grip the club, and hold your hands directly in front of you comfortably.

Now, slowly let gravity drop the club in front of you. Just let it drop naturally and fall where it falls. Keep your legs straight during this process.

At this point, your club should be lined up somewhere close to the ball, and your knees should still be straight. Now, just add a slight bend to your knees, which will naturally push the club forward on the ground (and no longer aligned with the ball):

Finally, staying in this position, adjust your stance so that the ball is aligned to the center of the clubface again. This is your final, perfect posture:
